For more than 30 years, Solas Marine Services Group has provided safety and protection solutions to meet the growing demands of Life Saving Appliances (LSA) and Fire Fighting Appliances (FFA) professionals, along with safety equipment in the marine industry. Based in Dubai, they have built a strong local presence and meaningful connections in the marine, oil and gas and civil sectors in the Middle East, India, Sri Lanka and Singapore. 

THE CHALLENGE:

Transform a traditional B2B client into a direct digital business

Solas Marine needed help in digitally transforming their business. They needed a single platform that could reflect their new branding, promote their products, provide complex product information and ultimately sell to their customers. Put simply, Solas Marine needed an ecommerce enabled website that worked alongside their existing systems and processes.

THE SOLUTION:

Creation of a direct-to-customer sales platform

After our consulting team had scoped out the project and provided a project plan, our web design team created a new look and feel to help re-vamp the client’s online presence. Our technical team then put in the hard work to connect and sync over 1,200 SKUs (products) between new and existing systems. Once the technical foundation and design were complete, we built a new customer-facing website and a D2C ecommerce back-end, all connected to the existing ERP system.

The new website has allowed Solas Marine to more efficiently communicate information about their huge range of products, improving the customer journey and reducing wasted time. The ecommerce capabilities allow them to perform end-to-end order processing more efficiently, saving them time and money. The customer experience is seamless, the sales process has been improved and direct digital sales revenues have increased.
